MOUNT MED RESORT: NEW RETREAT SERIES

With Celebrity Performance Coach Damian Viera

Mount Med Resort in Tyrol presents a new series of exclusive weekend retreats that combine regeneration protocols from the film industry with refined, high-end cuisine. The Alpine Performance Retreat weekend series launches on February 20, 2026.

Performance coach Damian Viera and Executive Chef Phillip Schnabel are collaborating to offer intensive weekend programmes that combine physical transformation with culinary precision supported by the resort’s 3,500sqm Medical Spa, training facilities, saunas and therapeutic massage programmes.

The Hollywood Experience

The retreats bring two specialists together under one roof. Viera developed his methodology over 30 years of practice and 15 years of preparing actors for major international film productions such as Aquaman, SEE, Chief of War, The Wrecking Crew and Dune – projects where physical performance is critical to keeping production schedules on track. Schnabel contributes his culinary expertise, creating menus designed to support regeneration and performance: protein-focused, recovery-oriented and conceived as an integral part of the programme rather than a mere accompaniment.

‘This is not relaxation. This is rebuilding.’

‘What we are building here is fundamentally different from a classic spa weekend,’ says Viera. ‘You have a coach who understands what it takes to keep a body performing under pressure. A chef who understands that food is medicine. And a resort with the spatial and medical infrastructure required for serious work – training rooms, saunas, therapists, medical programmes. This is not relaxation. This is reconstruction.’

Each weekend follows a carefully designed structure. Arrival begins with assessment and orientation. Strength, mobility, outdoor activities, recovery, and nutrition are deliberately combined to support alpine performance – tailored to the individual interests of each guest. At the conclusion, the weekend’s elements are brought together, and every participant receives a 30-day follow-up plan to continue the protocols at home.

The combination of kettlebell training and athletic power yoga is rare in the European luxury wellness segment, where strength training and movement practices are usually offered separately. Viera’s approach integrates kettlebell protocols for hip stabilisation and cardiovascular conditioning with yoga sequences for spinal mobilisation and parasympathetic activation – an integration that helps his high-profile clients remain resilient and injury-free even under demanding schedules.

The Weekend

Mount Med Resort provides the setting: an 850-year-old tithe barn that has been transformed into a medical wellness destination in Tirol’s Wildschönau region. The property comprises 46 rooms and suites, 14 chalet suites, indoor and outdoor pools, multiple saunas, a fully equipped fitness centre, and a medical team offering physician-supervised programmes that can be combined with the retreat weekends.

The format is intentionally compact: three days, with a maximum of 15 participants. Prices start at €1,169 per person and include accommodation, all training sessions, two spa treatments, all meals prepared by Executive Chef Schnabel, and the 30-day follow-up programme. Weekends can be booked individually or as a progressive series.

The retreats can also be combined with physician-supervised health programmes at Mount Med Resort, including Detox & Weight Management, Prevention & Vitality, Ortho Mobility & Motion, Aesthetics & Age Reverse, and Quick Preventive Health.

Reservations are now open for dates from 20 February through April 2026.
